A FLORIDA Highway Patrol trooper has died after being involved in a fatal car crash.
Trooper Zachary Fink was killed early Friday after his cruiser crashed with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in St. Lucie County, Florida, about an hour north of West Palm Beach.
Aerial footage from NBC affiliate WPTV‘s Chopper 5 showed the tractor turned on its side.
It’s unclear what caused the crash.
Florida Highway Patrol will hold a 10 am press conference to share additional details on the incident.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis paid tribute to Fink on an X, formerly Twitter, post: “Our hearts go out to the family of FHP Trooper Zachary Fink, who was killed in the line of duty while attempting to detain a fleeing felon in St. Lucie County.
