PUNTA GORDA — A man critically injured in a Monday crash has died, according to authorities.
The two vehicle wreck took place about 6:30 p.m. Monday at U.S. 41 and Acline Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
According to an FHP report, a 24-year-old Fort Myers man was driving a sedan southbound on U.S. 41 about 6:30 p.m. Monday just south of Acline Road in Punta Gorda. He was on the outside lane.

The sedan went off the road and overturned. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
“The driver sustained critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital,” the report states.
On Thursday, he died at Gulf Coast Hospital.
“The crash remains under investigation,” authorities stated.
