Footage released by FMPD shows semitrailer leaving scene of death ruled homicide

Authorities seek information about a semitrailer they say is believed connected to a recent homicide.

Fort Myers officers on Jan. 27, around 1:30 p.m., responded to a field at 1500 Markland Avenue, where they found the body of Aubrey Carter, 64. Police said they believe it’s an isolated incident.

Authorities seek community assistance for information regarding the murder.

Police said the semitrailer was on surveillance driving away from the area where they found Carter. Distinct characteristics, police said, are the faded emblem on the side of the truck reads “Henderson Trucking…Pride through Performance” and the number 53 on the upper right corner of the box trailer.

Anyone with information regarding Carter’s death is urged to contact police at 239-321-7700, submit a tip on their #AtlasOne app or contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, to remain anonymous.

Tipsters may also be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000, if they lead to an arrest.
