C.A.R.E. Ball’s ‘Royal Ruby Jubilee’ raises money for victims of violence

PUNTA GORDA — The Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies held its annual C.A.R.E. Ball on Jan. 27 at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center.

The event is one of the major social events in Charlotte County and is the biggest fundraiser for C.A.R.E., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping victims of sexual abuse, domestic abuse and other violent crimes.

This was the 36th annual event. This year’s theme, “Royal Ruby Jubilee,” prompted some attendees to wear period costumes.
