On February 7, 2024, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 11-year-old girl at Murdock Middle School in Port Charlotte, Florida, following a disturbing discovery. A School Resource Officer was alerted to a notebook detailing a plan to harm another student, which led to the investigation and subsequent discovery of a 5-inch steak knife in the young girl’s backpack.
The situation unfolded when the notebook, left behind in a classroom, was found and reported to the authorities. Upon interviewing the student, identified as Journey Little, it was revealed that she harbored intentions to kill a fellow female student, who she believed was flirting with her boyfriend. The details of her plan were chilling, including thoughts of kidnapping and harming the potential victim and their family. A witness, who had seen the notebook a week earlier, corroborated the account, stating that the intended victim’s name was not mentioned, but it was clear who the notes referred to due to ongoing conflicts.
