No damage caused during weak earthquake off Florida’s east coast last night

A weak 4.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded off the Atlantic coast of Florida on Wednesday night, just more than 231 miles to the northeast of Cape Coral. Earthquakes of this magnitude are not strong enough to cause damage. Given the quake’s small size and epicenter being so far offshore, there were only a few sporadic reports of weak shaking being felt on the state’s east coast.
