Her tattoo, a birthday gift to herself, features the names of her grandchildren – all six

Sheila Palson: Paying tribute to her grandchildren

I would like to share the story of my tattoo.

For my 65th birthday, we went on a river cruise that terminated in Hungary.  We spent a week there and during that time, my sister and I decided to get a tattoo.

After watching me get my tattoo (three hours in the chair), my sister decided this was not for her.

The tattoo originally had three of my grandchildren’s names incorporated.  The addition of two more grandchildren necessitated the addition of two more names at the top of the tattoo.  Runa, my youngest granddaughter, was the last tattoo done a week ago (in March).
