Laishley Crab House helps Girls on the Run fundraiser

PUNTA GORDA — Girls on the Run recently received a $10,000 gift to kick off its annual 5K run through Punta Gorda.

“This is a significant contribution from Laishley Crab House which will play a crucial role in supporting the upcoming Fall 5K,” Girls on the Run SWFL Executive Director Kristen Manomat said.

Over the years, Laishley Crab House has been a “steadfast supporter” of Girls on the Run SWFL, she said.

“Their ongoing commitment to our mission is greatly appreciated, and this latest sponsorship underscores their dedication to empowering young girls in the community,” Manomat said.

The 5K event, planned for Nov. 16 at the Charlotte Harbor Event Center, isn’t just a race, but a celebration of “hard work, dedication, and growth” of the girls in the program.

“It helps reinforce their confidence and demonstrates the power of setting and achieving goals,” she said. “Girls on the Run SWFL empowers young girls by combining an intentional curriculum with physical activity, helping them to develop essential life skills, foster healthy living habits, and build confidence.”
