Charlotte County’s Mid-County Mini-Transfer Facility operating 24 hours

PORT CHARLOTTE — Charlotte County’s Mid-County Mini-Transfer & Recycling Facility at 19765 Kenilworth Blvd., Port Charlotte is open 24 hours, seven days a week until further notice, county officials announced this week.

Charlotte County residents may drop off storm debris like building materials, furniture and vegetative debris. This is for residential use only, not commercial use.

The facility will not accept perishable waste, such as household garbage or yard trimmings in bags.

Proof of county residency is required. Residents need to bring a valid form of identification to include name, photo, and local address. Photo identification from other areas must be accompanied by a current utility bill or document showing proof of residency at a Charlotte County residential address.

P.O. Box addresses are not accepted as proof of residency.

Trailers cannot exceed 12 feet in length.

Household hazardous waste will only be accepted from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The West Charlotte Mini-Transfer & Recycling Facility, 7070 Environmental Way, off Gulfstream Boulevard, Englewood, is open extended hours, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday. That facility will be on extended hours through Nov. 2.
