Florida Company Recalls Frozen Products Due to Lack of Inspection, Undeclared Allergens

A Tu Gusto, LLC, a Lehigh Acres-based food company, is recalling approximately 7,630 pounds of frozen meat and poultry croquette products produced without the benefit of federal inspection. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced that these products also contain undeclared allergens, including soy, sesame seeds, and wheat, which are not listed on the product labels. These allergens could pose a risk to consumers with allergies or sensitivities.

The frozen croquettes were produced between April and October 2024 and have a shelf life of 6 months. The recall affects the following 32-oz boxes of “A Tu Gusto Paladar” branded products:

  • Chicken Croquetas (Croquettes)
  • Chorizo (Sausage) Croquetas (Croquettes)
  • Pescado (Fish) Croquetas (Croquettes)
  • Jamon (Ham) Croquetas (Croquettes)

These products bear a USDA inspection mark with establishment number “EST. 11154,” a number which was improperly used by A Tu Gusto, LLC. The plant associated with this number was unaware of its unauthorized use. The affected items were distributed to a variety of retailers, restaurants, and distributors in Florida and Texas.
