PUNTA GORDA — An Atlanta-based company recently purchased a $6.1 million retail site on Jones Loop Road in Punta Gorda.
The purchase, by SREG Commercial Real Estate Development, and named Punta Gorda Station could bring much-needed commercial development to Punta Gorda.
It’s something the City Council repeatedly discusses about bringing more businesses to Punta Gorda to help diversify the tax base.
“This is an integral piece to the overall project and will provide much needed retail services to the Punta Gorda area,” said Michael Price, managing director of LQ Commercial Fort Myers.
LQ brokered the sale.
“The tenant mix will be a huge addition for the surrounding residents and will bolster the Jones Loop corridor,” Price stated. “This project has been in the works for a long time and it is very exciting to see this all come to fruition.”
The location should be easier to access national and local retailers, Price said, adding with more than 10,000 homes already permitted or under construction in the rapidly growing area, the demand for retail spaces, restaurants, and services is at an all-time high. “It’s paving the way for a new wave of commercial development.”
