PUNTA GORDA — Fishermen’s Village management announced plans to reopen the retail and dining establishments at the shopping center by Friday.
Management made the announcement Wednesday. The shopping center has been in cleanup and recovery mode following Hurricane Milton, a Category 3 hurricane that made landfall near Sarasota on Oct. 9.
“We are thrilled to have made significant progress on our cleanup and recovery efforts thanks to the dedication of our family of employees and merchants,” Patti Allen, the center’s manager, wrote in a statement Wednesday.
Employees worked with multiple service contractors to prepare for the reopening.
“We thank the community for their concern and well wishes and look forward to seeing everyone shopping and dining at our independently owned businesses, which are the heart of the Village,” she stated.
Workers have also been installing lights and décor for the annual Lighting of the Village and Festival of Lights Celebration, which kicks off Nov. 16.
