PUNTA GORDA — Circuit Judge Shannon McFee ordered law enforcement to give Andrew Sheets his guns back during a Wednesday hearing.
Sheets leads an online webpage and often films people he interviews, including law enforcement officials. He uses signs in public some deem controversial about topics including abortion.
Sheets was prohibited from possessing and carrying his personal guns as a punishment from a previous charge.
According to the court records, those charges included illegal interception of communication, invasion or privacy and illegal disclosure of information, and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.
On Wednesday, he was in court, looking to modify a condition of his probation. He wanted the return of firearms confiscated by law enforcement.
McFee ultimately decided to grant Sheets access back to his firearms as there is no “compelling reason for the requirement,” based on his charges.
Sheets reached out to The Daily Sun on Wednesday, saying “got guns back.”
