Meet Moo, a ginormous celebrity steer greeting guests at a North Fort Myers restaurant

It’s hard to miss Moo when you pull into Blossom & Brie in North Fort Myers.

At 6-foot-3 and 1,600-plus pounds, the Holstein steer is ginormous, standing horns, head and shoulders above all others on the farm.

“He makes dairy cows look like calves,” said Stacey Poole, who co-owns the restaurant, farm and event space with her husband Rodney. “But he’s just so sweet.”

Moo is one of 350 animals, birds, reptiles and fish who needed to find new homes after The Shell Factory & Nature Park closed in September.

“I got a call from my cousin who found out about Moo and asked if we’d be interested in adopting him,” Rodney said. “There’s a hierarchy on the farm. I paused a second, checked with our farmhands who immediately said to bring him here.”

When Moo arrived, he was introduced just to Brie, the resident Jersey cow.

“We wanted him to get a lay of the land, get him used to the pasture,” Rodney said. “He was in a much smaller area. Now he has access to 40 of the 86 acres here.”

The two got along well and have created a special bond.
