VOLUNTEER: Woman makes blankets, distributes them to patients

PORT CHARLOTTE — One region resident has worked to create more than 200 blankets for patients at a local hospital.

According to a news release from HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital, it credited volunteer Jenny Conley for her efforts.

A volunteer for 14 years, she has created and then distributed her hand-crocheted blankets during many of those years during most of those holidays, the news release stated.

“Jenny is a compassionate, wonderful volunteer and we are lucky to have her in our Fawcett family,” Fawcett Hospital volunteer manager stated in the news release. “Patients light up when receiving a blanket and we appreciate her devotion and her gift of time.”

Volunteers are always needed for the facility.

For more information on how to do so, contact HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital’s volunteer program by calling 941-624-8007 or visiting online at HCAFloridaHealthcare.com.
