Tails are wagging at the Cape Coral Animal Shelter.
The nonprofit, no-kill shelter and veterinary clinic received a $1.5 million grant from the Golisano Foundation.
It will go toward a major expansion project beginning in 2025.
“What an incredible honor for our organization to be recognized for the great work we have done and continue to do throughout Southwest Florida,” CCAS Founder and Board President JoAnn Elardo said in a news release.
“This grant has given us a tremendous boost toward our expansion project which will help us save so many animals and help so many people in our community and beyond.”
The $5 million capital campaign project includes a new 19,000-square-foot state-of-the-art shelter that triples its current capacity.
Its current building will expand the veterinary clinic with more exam rooms, bigger surgical suites and recovery areas.
And many more tails will wag.
