Cape Coral police arrest teen for burglary and prowling

CAPE CORAL, Florida — A burglary in progress led to the arrest of a teenager early on December 24, 2024, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. Officers responded to SE 46th Street after a resident reported seeing a silhouette inside their vehicle.

The suspect fled on foot when the resident closed their front door, prompting an immediate call to the police. Officers located a suspect matching the description at SE 45th Street and SE 14th Avenue. The individual, identified as 19-year-old Jaden Donovan, was detained. Video footage from a neighbor captured the incident, stated the department.

Donovan was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, a third-degree felony, and loitering and prowling, a first-degree misdemeanor. The Cape Coral Police Department expressed gratitude to the community for their vigilance and cooperation in ensuring neighborhood safety.
