Boca Grande Peninsula Resort & Marina gets OK

Jay and Cookie Potter-Feinberg’s six-year wait to begin development on their Boca Grande Peninsula Resort & Marina is over.

The site was once a fishery, a focal point of the area’s commercial fishing community.

Now, it will become a multi-million dollar resort home to a luxury hotel, retail space, condos, 79 boat slips and restaurants with final site plan approval from Charlotte County Board of Commissioners.

Zoning Supervisor Maryann Franks told commissioners the final site plan was consistent and compliant with Charlotte County’s Comprehensive Plan and it won approval recently from the Charlotte County Commissioners, allowing construction to begin.

Once it’s completed, guests will have an option to stay at one of the 155 hotel rooms, or purchase one of the 99 dwelling units.

The property’s plans stated that the condos will range from 1,450 to 2,161 square feet, at a starting price of $1.3 million.

Feinberg contracted with the Miami-based Integra development and investment firm to construct a five-star, condominium and vacation resort.
