Deputies: Charlotte County couple charged with burglary after being caught on boat

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A Charlotte County couple was arrested after deputies say they boarded an unoccupied boat.

On April 24 around noon, a Charlotte Coutny deputy was on patrol in Placida Harbor near the entrance of Eldred’s Marina, when he observed the vessel in the water. He contacted the owner, who told him that no one should have been on board.

Alongside the vessel a white paddle board tied to the rear stern and a neon green kayak on the deck at the stern was observed. Dep. Smith also observed the vessel port holes open to allow air inside the cabin…
