COLUMN: Another school year gone by – summer is approaching fast

As the school year winds down and summer peeks around the corner, we at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Charlotte County are filled with pride, gratitude, and excitement. This past year has been one of growth, resilience, and connection — and we’re carrying that momentum straight into summer.

Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, our Clubs across Charlotte County became more than just after-school programs. They were places of learning, laughter, support, and transformation. Every day, our dedicated staff showed up with heart and purpose, guiding our members through academic challenges, social-emotional growth, and the simple joys of being a kid. Whether it was helping with homework, leading STEM experiments, or offering a listening ear, our team was there.

We’ve seen firsthand the impact of these efforts. Club members improved their grades, developed leadership skills, and built meaningful friendships. Our teen programs empowered young people to think about their futures with confidence — exploring career pathways and giving back to their communities through service projects. Thanks to strong partnerships with local schools, families, and community organizations, we were able to provide wraparound support that addressed the whole child, both inside and outside the classroom…
