Cass County, ND – Florida Man Dies in Fatal Crash Involving Cement Truck

Cass County, ND – A fatal crash in Cass County on Wednesday evening left one man dead and another injured. Authorities are investigating the details surrounding the crash, which occurred around 8:25 p.m. at the intersection of Cass County Road 26 and Highway 18.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2026 Western Star cement truck traveling westbound on Cass County Road 26 failed to stop at a stop sign, resulting in a collision with a 2023 Kenworth truck pulling a loaded 2015 Trinity live bottom trailer. The impact caused the trailer to detach and spill its load of potatoes into the west ditch. The driver of the cement truck, a 34-year-old man from Fort Myers, Florida, suffered fatal injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Kenworth truck, a 78-year-old man from Minto, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was wearing his seatbelt. He was transported to Sanford Health for medical treatment…
