Villager banned from Publix after alleged attack over parking

An 80-year-old Villager has been banned from a local Publix grocery store in the wake of an alleged attack in a parking dispute.

Henry Kok of the Village of Sanibel was arrested this past week in an alleged attack at Publix at Colony Plaza. He allegedly used his cane to strike a man parked in a handicapped spot at the grocery store.

Kok remains free on $2,000 but as a condition of his bond he has been banned from the Publix at Colony Plaza, including the parking lot. In addition, he cannot come into the contact with the man he allegedly attacked.

Court records indicated that Kok, who collects $3,000 a month in Social Security benefits, plans to rely on the services of the public defender’s office for his legal representation in the case…
