PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WWSB) – A former DeSoto correctional officer has been arrested and charged with slipping a cell phone to an inmate she had a romantic relationship with, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said.
Aunusty C. Dominguez, 23, formerly known as Austyn Kellogg, is accused of giving a cellphone to Trey Borders while he was an inmate in the DeSoto County Jail. Dominguez was a corrections officer from February 2021 until March 2023 when she resigned.
Borders told detectives he and Dominguez had a consensual sexual relationship while he was housed in the DoSoto jail. In Sept, 2022, Border was transferred to the Charlotte County Jail, where he allegedly used the phone to communicate with Dominquez…
