RUNNING: North Port Firecracker 5K goes off without a hitch

NORTH PORT — A Fourth of July tradition went off without a hitch Friday morning when the North Port Firecracker 5K welcomed 270 runners to a soggy course on the North Port High School grounds.

Former Port Charlotte High cross country standout Tyler Wadsworth won the race, but fun was had by all.
