Cape Coral man arrested for burglary and inappropriate touching

CAPE CORAL, Florida — A 27-year-old man was arrested Sunday after allegedly groping a minor and attempting to burglarize a vehicle, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. The incidents occurred at two separate locations on NE Pine Island Road.

Officers first responded to a report of inappropriate touching at 1890 NE Pine Island Rd, where a 17-year-old girl was allegedly groped by an unknown man while shopping with her sibling. Surveillance footage confirmed the incident, showing a white male with short curly hair and sunglasses grabbing the minor’s buttocks before leaving the store.

Later that afternoon, police were called to 1819 NE Pine Island Rd for a burglary report. A woman reported that a man attempted to enter her vehicle while her two daughters were inside. The suspect, identified as Nelson Antonio Prado, age 27, of Cape Coral, Florida, was detained nearby.
