The Lee County Clerk of Courts Office provided the following statement about the notary:
“We are deeply disturbed by these accusations and take them very seriously. This individual is no longer an employee of the Lee County Clerk’s office. It is important to note that when the alleged incident took place, this individual was acting on her own personal behalf and not as a representative of the Clerk’s office.
