Fort Myers builder tackles construction worker shortage with tech and mentorship

According to the Building Talent Foundation, the construction industry lost more than 2 million jobs during the 2008 recession, and many workers did not return. With 40% of construction workers set to retire by 2031, Fort Myers-based Tobler Construction is focused on bringing young people into the trade.

“Most of our young people are super savvy, so they take us to another level in the construction industry, from bidding jobs to taking care of the material,” said John Tobler, owner of Tobler Construction.
