Judge declares mistrial in DUI case against ex-Charlotte County top first responder

Two days after the trial for one of the top Charlotte County first responders with ties to Lee County began, a judge sided with the defense and ordered a mistrial.

Michael Vernon Davis, 53, of North Fort Myers, faces one count of DUI. At the time of his arrest, he was the deputy chief for Charlotte County Fire and EMS.
