CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — In a story that could’ve jumped straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon.
Deputies in Charlotte County responded to an unusual call late last week: a wild animal had darted in front of a car and become lodged in the vehicle’s bumper. That animal was none other than a coyote — dubbed “Wile E.” by the responding officers.
Thankfully, Wile E.’s misfortune didn’t end there. According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, despite suffering two broken legs on his left side, help was on the way. Officers called in the Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida Rescue and Transport, whose team carefully removed the injured animal and transported him for treatment.
Veterinarians are optimistic that Wile E. will make a full recovery. His story — a collision, a rescue, and a second chance — has since captured hearts and sparked smiles across the county, the sheriff’s office said…
