New Digital Flood Risk Tool Forerunner to Launch in Charlotte County on August 1

Residents in Charlotte County will soon have a new digital aid at their fingertips to help them understand and navigate the risks of flooding in their area. As reported today, officials are introducing Forerunner, an online tool providing floodplain information that’s accessible and user-friendly. Starting next Friday, it will offer detailed insights into flood zones, base flood elevations, and elevation certificates, as per Charlotte County.

The tool serves as a new channel for property owners to access vital data directly, “Forerunner will help residents understand their property’s flood risk and access important information without needing to contact the county directly,” Charlotte County Building Official and Floodplain Administrator Shawn McNulty shared in an article. This initiative brings forth a more streamlined and transparent approach, with the added convenience of reducing unnecessary paperwork and is expected to enhance both public safety, and fortify the county’s digital footprint, as per Charlotte County.

Forerunner’s launch is touted as a resource for homeowners, insurance agents, and others with vested interests in property safety and compliance.
