Several hospitals from Tampa to Fort Myers were listed among the best hospitals in Florida by U.S. News and World Report, which on July 29 released its 2025-2026 rankings. The publication assessed more than 4,400 hospitals nationwide as part of its research, which included looking at a variety of patient outcome measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates and preventable complications.
Tampa General Hospital was ranked the No. 4 hospital in Florida and was nationally ranked in several categories, including No. 5 for obstetrics and gynecology. It was also among the top 45 in the country for gastroenterology and GI surgery; ear, nose and throat; urology; diabetes and endocrinology; and cardiology, heart and vascular surgery.
