North Fort Myers man helped fugitive thief hide from authorities, deputies say

A North Fort Myers man accused of helping an escaped convict hide for a week from law enforcement has been arrested.

David Sansotta, 47, was arrested on Monday, August 11, after the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the suspect’s neighbor who said she saw Sansotta with Jamie Jenks, a fugitive who had escaped a jail in St. Petersburg.

Sansotta told his neighbor that he met Jenks, 33, on the Grindr app, and that Jenks was staying in his residence. The man knew that Jenks was a fugitive, the arrest report states…
