An 80-year-old Villager has been ordered into anger management after using a cane to attack a man in a golf cart in a parking dispute at Publix.
Henry Kok of the Village of Sanibel is poised to escape prosecution on a charge of battery on a person over the age of 65 as the result of being allowed to enter into a pre-trial intervention contract.
Kok must complete eight hours of anger management training as part of the deal arranged through the prosecutor’s office, according to the contract on file in Sumter County Court. He must also perform 50 hours of community service, although he will be allowed to “buy out” of service at the rate of $10 per hour.
Kok was arrested after the attack at Publix at Colony Plaza in which he used his cane to strike a man parked in a handicapped spot at the grocery store…
