Lee County Domestic Animal Services says its 2025 Clear The Shelters ecent was an overwhelming success. During the one-day adoption special, 64 cats and dogs found their forever homes with families.
“We are thrilled with the response from our community,” Director Pablo Adorno said of the event, which was held Saturday, Aug. 23. “Every adoption represents not just a new beginning for that pet, but also a lifesaving opportunity for others still waiting in our care.”
Clear the Shelters is a nationwide initiative aimed at finding homes for shelter animals through fee-waived or reduced-cost adoptions. This year’s event in Lee County brought in hundreds of adopters eager to provide homes, helping to reduce the shelter’s population and making space for new arrivals…
