Cape Coral teenager arrested for multiple burglaries and thefts

CAPE CORAL, Florida — A 17-year-old from Cape Coral has been arrested following a comprehensive investigation linking him to multiple vehicle burglaries, motor vehicle theft, and firearm-related offenses, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. Darryle Terrell Ford, identified through digital forensics and surveillance, faces several charges related to incidents occurring over recent months.

The investigation, conducted by the Cape Coral Police Department in collaboration with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, connected Ford to various crimes, including a March 8 burglary where a Glock 23 pistol was stolen and later displayed in a self-created rap video. On March 19, a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol was taken from a vehicle, and on May 21-22, a white Mercedes Benz was stolen and later recovered, with digital evidence linking Ford to the theft.

Further incidents include a June 13 theft of a Glock 43 handgun, and a June 22 series of vehicle burglaries involving a Chrysler 300 and a GMC Yukon, where Ford was identified as the primary suspect. On July 5, Ford was connected to a BMW burglary and the theft of a bicycle, valued at $350, used in additional burglaries…
