Suspect caught near Canadian border

PORT CHARLOTTE — Nearly nine months after he fleeing authorities and being deemed “armed and dangerous,” a fugitive has been apprehended.

Jacques Gentis, 21, of Englewood, faces a variety of charges.

“His running days are OVER!” Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office stated in a social media post. “He was apprehended in Yates County, New York — not far from the Canadian border — and will be extradited back to Florida on multiple warrants.”…
