Lee County Sheriff’s Office major crimes detectives continue to investigate the suspicious death of a Lee County Jail inmate, and the sheriff’s office is withholding the name of the man’s cellmate and a suspect.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m. July 4, sheriff’s deputies responded to a “suspicious incident” at the jail, 2115 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., in Fort Myers, an incident report said. Inmates had notified corrections deputies of an issue in one of the cells.
Authorities found Andrew Joseph Davis, 27, unconscious in his cell. Corrections deputies notified emergency medical services, who arrived and began lifesaving measures, the report said…
