Sarasota and Charlotte counties announced government office and service closures for Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day.
In Sarasota County, most government offices will be closed, including libraries and historical resources, UF/IFAS Extension and Sustainability offices, Breeze Transit administrative offices, recreation facilities, and solid waste facilities such as the Central County Landfill and Citizens’ Convenience Center. The Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Clerk of Court and Comptroller, and Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County will also be closed.
Regular Breeze bus service, the 76 Flyer, and Plus services will not operate on Monday, though the 77 Siesta Islander and OnDemand services will run on normal schedules. Trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will shift by one day, running Tuesday through Saturday. Regular collection resumes Monday, September. 8.
