Babcock had a scheduled week off, while Venice had an unscheduled week off due to the stormy night down in South Florida on Friday. North Port and Charlotte played against each other and Lemon Bay and DeSoto showed some hope in losing efforts. Port Charlotte, well, was Port Charlotte.

CHARLOTTEThe Tarpons had little trouble getting past North Port at the Preserve 48-0 for their first win of the season. Daveon Daniels set the tone of the game with an opening touchdown. John McCullough was his usual nimble self behind center by scoring twice, and Jesiah McKnight’s punt return to the house made it 34-0 at the half.
