Cape Coral police arrest registered offender for failing to comply with registration requirements

CAPE CORAL, Florida — The Cape Coral Police Department, with assistance from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, has arrested 58-year-old Tracey Ramirez, of Cape Coral, Florida, for failing to comply with state-mandated registration requirements. Ramirez, a registered sexual offender, was taken into custody on September 9, 2025, and booked into the Lee County Jail.

Detectives from the Cape Coral Police Department’s Special Victims Unit were investigating Ramirez for troubling behaviors, including attempts to lure real estate professionals to vacant homes under false pretenses, according to a press release from the department. Additionally, detectives discovered concerning writings referencing underage children and inappropriate interactions with women and young girls. While these findings did not result in additional charges, they highlight the need for public caution and awareness.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Predator Unit conducted a compliance check on Ramirez and determined that he had been using a phone number for more than a month without reporting it, as required by Florida law.
