Sustainability is a known selling point for prospective freshmen at FGCU. With the campus being so close to the Everglades, students often encounter native animals and critters on their way to class.. It’s quite exciting, especially for those who chose FGCU to be integrated with the natural wildlife the campus offers.
A student’s integration can range from participating in one of our numerous outdoor trails, nature-related clubs or strolling along the stunning boardwalks that stretch across the marshes. This year has been a bit odd with an outstanding spike in bear sightings around campus. These bears have gone locally viral, with awe erupting from bystanders, but it has yet to be discussed as to why this has been happening.
Last year, the school started a noticeable amount of increased construction on campus. This came with cutting down trees, flattening the land, and causing debris all around the campus grounds…
