Charlotte County Community Services is rolling out a Saturday where families can ditch the sedentary for something that gets the heart pumping. They’re calling it the Family Field Day and it’s scheduled for the morning of October 11 at Harbor Heights Park. Located at 27420 Voyageur Drive in Punta Gorda, the park will transform into a playground for all ages, encouraging a bit of friendly competition and a lot of active fun, as per Charlotte County’s release.
The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon, won’t cost you a dime to join in. It’s designed to be an inclusive affair, welcoming kids, teens, parents, and grandparents to partake in various activities. Expect obstacle courses, relay races, and a slew of activities that promise, to not only tucker you out but also tug on that family bonding cord. Given the expansive nature of these activities, the aim is to cater to a diverse age range and physical capability, ensuring no one feels left out.
Harbor Heights Park usually serves as a serene spot for locals, offering picturesque views of the water and ample space for picnicking. But come October 11, it’s set to be buzzing with the energy of families tackling physical challenges together. This activity-focused initiative by Charlotte County Community Services echoes a broader trend of community-focused events that aim to encourage health, wellness, and community cohesion through shared experiences…
