PUNTA GORDA — One day, Mike Bernicchi was teaching at The Academy in Port Charlotte. The next day, he was deployed for military operations in Syria.
Bernicchi spoke of his experiences to dozens of Kingsway Elementary School fifth-grade students this week at the Military Heritage Museum in Punta Gorda.
