Mel’s Diner in Cape Coral found itself in hot water with state inspectors after racking up 11 violations during a September 17 routine inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. The popular Pine Island Road local restaurant received a warning and was required to undergo a follow-up inspection.

The inspection revealed one high-priority violation, three intermediate violations, and seven basic violations. The restaurant managed to correct most issues by the September 22 follow-up visit, with only two violations remaining, and met inspection standards.
