PUNTA GORDA — Three men were reportedly caught in the act of stealing fuel at a Punta Gorda gas station, according to Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a news release, about midnight Monday, authorities were alerted to semi-truck drivers who had been allegedly committing fuel thefts elsewhere had come to Charlotte County.
“Deputies positioned themselves to intercept these vehicles and located them at a RaceTrac Gas Station on Duncan Road in Punta Gorda,” the news release states. “From a strategic position, a deputy was able to record the drivers of the vehicles as they unlocked and manipulated the pumps before dispensing fuel.”…
