Cape Coral man charged with aggravated animal cruelty

CAPE CORAL, Florida — Travis Keith Fehr, a 27-year-old resident of Cape Coral, was arrested on September 30, 2025, for aggravated animal cruelty. The arrest followed a report of suspicious circumstances involving the abuse of household cats, according to the Cape Coral Police Department.

Officers responded to a call from a woman who witnessed her boyfriend, Fehr, punching her cat via home security cameras while she was away. The caller, visibly distraught, informed officers that her boyfriend was beating up her cats. She had previously noticed “weird injuries” on one of her cats, including an injured leg, and was suspicious of Fehr’s explanation that the cats had fought each other.

To verify her suspicions, the caller set up a camera in the room where the cats stayed. The footage showed Fehr pulling a cat from under the bed and punching it repeatedly. Officers reviewed the video and confirmed the actions. Fehr later sent texts apologizing for hitting the cat…
