Woman posed as bank employee to get resident to transfer funds, detectives say

ENGLEWOOD — A Virginia woman posed as a bank employee to convince a Charlotte County resident to transfer more than $1,000 from her Zelle account, detectives say.

Kristina A. Stead, 25, of Maurertown, Virginia, was charged this week with scheming to defraud to obtain property valued at $300 or more, according to court records released Thursday.
