Labor Day could be the most ironic national holiday in the United States. Enacted to recognize one of the world’s most productive labor forces, the country celebrates by not working. However, despite most residents’ predilections toward a day of rest, Babcock Ranch was buzzing with activity.

A pair of events demonstrated that labor was definitely the order of the day – labors of love, that is. One was physically exertive, and the other taxed participants’ creative efforts. Babcock Ranch hosted an early morning 5K road race, followed by an always-popular and enthusiastically interactive golf cart parade…
