ENGLEWOOD — As Ella Howell underwent surgery for multiple injuries Friday, a day after being struck by a car in front of Lemon Bay High School, Charlotte County officials discussed whether additional safety measures are needed.
At 7 a.m. Thursday, the 14-year-old was riding a bicycle on Placida Road when she was hit by a student driving a vehicle.
