Cape Coral Oktoberfest Celebrates 40 Years as Florida’s Largest With Authentic German Festivities

Southwest Florida’s biggest beer festival kicks off on Oct. 17 as Cape Coral’s German American Social Club marks 40 years of Oktoberfest.

The festival runs Oct. 17-19 and Oct. 24-26 at 2101 S.W. Pine Island Road, drawing 40,000 visitors yearly. “Everyone’s just always smiling,” said Oktoberfest chairman Ed Freund, according to The News-Press. “I meet people every year, and I hardly ever see a grumpy face here.”

Music fills the air with sounds from across the Atlantic. Knappenkapelle of Bavaria and KaBeGl of Wendelstein flew in for the shows. They’ll share stages with the Manni Daum Trio, Duo Surprise, The Boots Band, and the club’s Hafenkapelle musicians…
